Mission
Aladin Childcare Services exists to provide a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years. Our focus is to provide a stimulating early learning and care experience that promotes each child’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development in a non-sexist, non-judgemental atmosphere. Our goal is to support the child and family in their quest to attain their fullest potential.

History

Aladin was incorporated in 1984 as a not for profit childcare. It is a registered charity. It has grown to become a multisite childcare agency in Ottawa.

The agency moved into the new building on Russell Rd. June 1995.

We have expanded our kindergarten and school age programs at Pleasant Park school.

In August 2014, in partnership with the French Catholic school board, we opened a new site at Sainte-Anne school, at 235 Beausoleil Dr. There, we started to offer programs for Toddlers, Preschool, Kindergarten and School age children.

Full Day Kindergarten (FDK) and Extended Day programs (EDP) were implemented province wide in 2015. Aladin became a third-party partner with the school boards.

In 2020, we opened an Infant program at our Sainte-Anne site.

We added a fourth site in the Vanier/Overbrook neighbourhoods providing services in French for Infant, Toddler and Preschool children.

Governance
Aladin is a not for profit agency run by a Board of directors composed of both parents and community members. The Annual General Meeting is held in the Spring. It is licensed under the Childcare and Early Years Act of Ontario and supervised by the Ministry of Education.
